IJburg floating houses

The technology used to build houses on water is not really new. On the island of Amsterdam’s IJburg are 36 floating homes divided over three jetties, which were built in private commission. The aesthetics are accounted for by covering the walls with fiberglass and plastic latches. Things such as sunrooms, verandas, floating terraces, and just about anything else can be attached to the basic frame. There are also options to build extensions and expand on the frame.
