We had the 4 course prix fix Sunday dinner and were surprised by the generous...Pre-COVID dining experience here.Claro is affordable, Michelin-star Oaxacan food. Yesterday, we were sat near a giant pile of wood and my wife got 7 giant bites, as 8-10 mosquitos circled below us. AMAZING Meal.
It was probably one of the best things I've had in a while. The latest Michelin guide recognized 76 restaurants in New York City, up from 72 last year. We ended the meal with Chocolate Mole Cake (served hot) and Helado de Mezcal- we both preferred the helado maybe because it was so hot the day we went.
Casa Enrique is in Long Island City, Queens, while Claro and Oxomoco are in Brooklyn (Gowanus and Greenpoint, respectively). The dinner experience here is easy-going and casual with the focus on food and drink rather than fanfare.

Our first time we came (2 years ago), our service was bad - waiting 35 minutes for dessert only to be told they were out of what we ordered. We arrived on time and thank god because it got busy after that. If you live in NY or are visiting I highly recommend a trip to Claro.

Came here for my sister in laws birthday and had like a prix fixe menu where we picked an appetizer, a 1st course, a 2nd course and dessert from a list.I'm so glad we came here!
My husband, David, read about this Michelin star restaurant and insisted we go as they are a gluten-free establishment.
I then got the Empanada, which was good by itself but make sure to dip it in the salsa they serve with it to add more flavors!
Because if we hadn't we wouldn't have been able to get to know the bartenders, who were phenomenal.
