Great to hear that someone has had a positive experience of SRI - you just never know what these places are going to be like. First time was good, had a lovely midwife and student, second wasn't quite so good, my midwife was rude and completely ignored OH when he was trying to ask questions. Yes it's shabby and needs updating, but with the new hospital opening this year, I guess there's not much point in spending money on the old hospital.

I found the care to be excellent and as I had to be rushed to theatre for an assisted delivery there were plenty of staff (including paedeatricians (sp)) in theatre incase they were needed. I gave birth to our first child in December at Stirling Royal. I was 4cm dilated and told to wait there until I needed pain relief. she came in about 7:30 and she was brilliant. Definately preferred this post natal care to my anti- natal care which I wasn't too impressed my, but different stories for everyone one, really down to the staff that are on at he time. My sister and cousin also gave birth there and received the same standard.
